Gold Blade were pretty much on their own when they kick started their rock action in the mid nineties. The circuit was clogged with the fag end of the indie scene and rock was dead. Gold Blade ripped the UK apart with a non stop tour... 300 gigs in two years building up a rep as an awesome live band and freak the minds of the crowds everywhere. They have played gigs with Rancid, John Spencer, Fugazi, The Offspring as well as being festival regulars at reading and Glastonbury and the big punk rock gatherings. They have also played all the major festivals across Europe. They have hit the top 75 four times, with ‘Strictly Hardcore’ being their biggest hit single to date. With a run of near hit singles (hey try getting into the top 75 as many times as the Blade have when daytime radio is hooked on boy band mush!) and two acclaimed top 75 albums Gold Blade are the true underground. Their critically acclaimed albums established Gold Blade at the forefront of the British punk rock scene. ‘Home Turf’ and ‘Gold Blade Drop The Bomb‘ saw Gold Blade pioneering rock n roll in the mid nineties- a time when the genre was pretty well left for dead. The debut album 'Home Turf' spawned the top 75 hits single "Black Elvis" and "Strictly Hardcore" whilst its follow up 'Drop the Bomb' also spawned the top 75 hit "Hairstyle" a song that saw Gold Blade on daytime radio one and also a classic appearance on Ant and Dec's prime time TV ‘CD UK’ show after a personnel request to appear on the show from the hosts. The albums saw Gold Blade established as evening radio regulars and with countless TV appearances and a fearsome live reputation Gold Blade built up a big live following which they maintain to this day. "In 2003 they are booked onto loads more punk festivals and they are setting up a world tour. John Robb's TV series on the history of punk ‘The Punk Years’ is in the process of getting shown all over the world and the bands multi media punk rock blitz looks set to go into full throttle. Their American debut perfectly captures Gold Blade’s adrenaline rush, powerful tunes and twisted punk rock precision, proof that punk rock is alive and kicking in the UK and not living in some cider drenched shanty town!" - Norman Davidson "one of few bands with the imagination to make something of guitar rock n roll" - NME "Gold Blade not only kick out the jams with their punk rock but they can diversify as well like on the fantastic ‘Hairstyle' the sexiest sassiest piece of funky rock n roll since the Chili Peppers donned their socks on their cocks" - Rolling Stone "not only an incredible live band Gold Blade also know how to make a fantastic sounding single" - Metal Hammer
